Octopuss
April 1, 1983
Octopuss is Cozy Powell’s third solo album, released in 1983. Unlike his previous two, it’s got more of a band feel, as the keyboards (Jon Lord), bass (Colin Hodgkinson), & drums (Cozy) were all handled by the same person. Only guitar work was split over more than one person (Mel Galley & Gary Moore).
While he doesn’t sing on the album, former Deep Purple & Whitesnake vocalist David Coverdale has a writing credit on the track “The Rattler”.
This was Cozy’s last solo album for eight years.
